| Interior Design Factory, Ltd. is a successful interior design firm located owned and operated by Lisa M. Smith, Associate, IIDA. Prior to going off on her own Lisa polished her interior design skills with two of Cleveland Ohio's premier long running interior design firms: Roger Roman Interiors and Donald Doskey Design, Inc. Lisa has a bachelor's degree in business (finance) as well as a degree in interior design. She is known for her no-nonsense business minded approach to the creative aspects of interior design. Lisa calls her own home her design laboratory. "My home is in process of a top to bottom re-design/remodel. I test new or green solutions from construction materials to design applications before introducing them to clients. I like to know a product works rather than just looks good."
At the Interior Design Factory we specialize in creating timeless, happy, comfortable and livable interiors for today's inhabitants. Our projects range from collaboration with architects on new home design, to remodeling historic homes, to re-designing corporate interiors, to individual rooms.
Interior design is fun but not if you have to keep redoing your interior over and over. Whether your goal is a home renovation to meet your family's need for beauty, functionality and comfort or designing a commercial environment to reposition your business for a successful future, we can create a plan to achieve your design goals. At the Interior Design Factory we Do It Once and Do It Right. Lisa also writes interior design based articles and does public speaking engagements on interior design.
Serving the following northern Ohio locations: Cleveland, Pepper Pike, Gates Mills, Hunting Valley, Moreland Hills, Chagrin Falls, Bainbridge, Shaker Heights, University Heights, Cleveland Heights, Beachwood, Mentor, Willoughby and more. Past projects have taken us to other Northern Ohio and Pennsylvania locations, Naples and Key West, FL; Charlotte, NC; New York, NY; and Scottsdale AZ.
Lisa is also a skilled artist. She does architectural renderings as well as whimsical creations in colored pencil and acrylic. But her favorite medium is acrylic on BIG canvas where she plays with the science of color and adds other various media to enhance the effect. She works in a studious but intuitive capacity to produce a variety of interpretive contemporary works. Lisa has created specific artwork for some of her own interior design projects and by request for other homes and businesses. Her work is exhibited locally at The Roth Collection.
Inspriation often comes from travel where Lisa takes hundreds of photographs of the colors in nature. She also finds creative fuel in her interest in the detail and artistry of vintage automobiles.
"Color isn't just about what looks pretty; it requires an intellectual appreciation of color science and an artist's eye for mixing. One must be fully aware of what color can achieve and how it reacts to the elements around it. |
